THIS WEEK @ GRACE CHURCH:

November 28 - December 3, 2021

Hope lives here!  There is always room.

COOKIES AND CAROLS AND CHRISTMAS, OH MY!

We’re so excited to gather together to decorate our beautiful sanctuary for Christmas!  Join us on Sunday evening, November 28 at 6pm!  The cookies will be plentiful, and the company will be wonderful!  It’s the 2021 Advent Festival!  We can’t wait to see you there!

SPEAKING OF CHRISTMAS…

Friday night, December 24, we’ll be gathering at 7pm for our Christmas Eve service.  As always, we look forward to sharing this very special evening with all of our church family.  Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel!

FAMILY PROMISE OPEN HOUSE!

As we continue to be partners with the community, we are proud to host Family Promise’s annual open house on Tuesday, November 30.  This offers us the opportunity to meet and greet with families, who are helped by this vital ministry, right here in Lemoyne!  Grace Church members are invited to drop by anytime from 4pm to 7pm to learn more about Family Promise and their ministry!

PHONE INFORMATION CHAIN

The church council is considering an idea that would have people opt-in to getting occasional messages via phone from the church.  While we’re not completely sure if this will move forward, we are looking to see if you think that would be something that would be useful.  The messaging system will cover everything from snow closures to occasional devotions.  If you might be interested in this, please visit the church website to indicate interest.  You can also call the church office to indicate your interest.

URGENT CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL NEED

In order to reopen our children’s Sunday School program, we are in need of a few helpers!  Let’s prioritize our kids and offer them all we have!  Depending on the number of volunteers, we can set up a very reasonable rotation.  Let’s show everyone how important kids are to this church!

CURRENT MASKING PROTOCOL

For all church-sponsored, group, indoor events….if the latest PCR positivity rate for Cumberland County is 5.0% or higher, masks will be required.  If the PCR positivity rate for Cumberland County is 4.9% or lower, masks will be optional.  This guidance applies to church-sponsored, group, indoor events (worship, Sunday School, Bible Study, etc).  In order to find the PCR positivity rate we will be using, please click here.  These are numbers provided by the State of Pennsylvania’s Department of Health.  Numbers are updated every Friday at noon.

Events taking place outside, masks are optional.

Events for groups renting the church building may make their own policy.

BLOOD DRIVE!

We will again be co-hosting a Blood Drive on Monday, December 13 from 9am till 3pm at Musselman Funeral Home!  To make an appointment to donate, please check out 717giveblood.org or call 1-800-771-0059.  To volunteer for the event, please contact the church office.

MLK DAY!

Make plans now as Grace will host the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. remembrance service, in conjunction with Christian Churches United.  More information will be coming soon for this event, which will take place on Monday evening, January 17.

JOIN THE TECH TEAM!

Grace’s Tech Team is an essential ministry of the church, as we continue to expand the reach of our ministry. Each Sunday morning, an extremely small but incredibly dedicated group make sure that both in-person and online worship happen as smoothly as possible. For this to be done with excellence, several different roles must be filled. At this time, we do not have enough people involved to continue all that happens on a Sunday morning in a sustainable way. We need your help! If you have any interest in learning more about how you can become a part of the Tech Team, please reach out to the church office! No prior knowledge or skill is required (Heck, we’d even say that even current knowledge or skill is not required because we don’t have much of that either!). Thank you for considering!

SUNDAY SCHOOL!

Join us in the Olewiler Room for a video-based, discussion-oriented adult Sunday School at 9am.  There will also be an online (Zoom) Sunday School class beginning at 11:15am.  (click for link) It will be the same content.

If other adult classes would like to meet separately, simply let the church office know and we will find a room for your class to meet.

PASTORAL VISITS!

If you would like to have a pastoral visit, please let the church office know…via email at office@graceumlemoyne.org or via phone at 717-763-7632.

STREAMING

Our service streams live on Facebook live at 10am.  The YouTube version will be available as soon as it is uploaded on Sunday late morning or early afternoon.

PLEASE NOTE

The Monday morning Women’s Bible Study will not be meeting until further notice.  We hope to resume in the not-too-distant future.
